For many, 2020 can be summed up in this meme:

It’s been a rough year filled with uncertainty, loss, anxiety, anger and the list of negative traits goes on.

But there’s always a flip side to everything and important lessons to be learned in every challenge.

From my personal experience, here are the top five lessons I learned:

Lesson #1: Death does not discriminate

Losing both grandmothers to COVID within a few weeks apart made me realize how death gives no f***ks.

It takes whomever it wants, whenever it wants.

A loved one can be full of life or as saintly as mother Theresa, it means nothing.

There’s no sense of justice or fairness in it but that’s the reality of life.

So might as well make the most of our time on earth because our expiration dates are never certain.

Lesson #2: Fear is dangerous
